Grace Bay Club Resort has been a journey from the point the developers purchased the original Grace Bay Club Hotel and expanded it with the Grace Bay Club Villas and later the Grace Bay Club Estates. The Villas were 4 story traditional load bearing masonry structures with suspended reinforced concrete slabs and stick rafter roofs. Simple structurally but fit for purpose. The Estates condo building was a building with a tiered North façade that produced out of balance loads and this was reflected on the South façade with stepped cantilevers. The building design incorporated these out of balance elements and addressed them with a combination of columns, counter balance structural elements and ultimately foundations that transferred all loads to the ground.
